Bird-Friendly Frit

MORE VISIBILITY EQUALS MORE EFFICANCY.
Our portfolio has the bird-friendly* bases covered, from barely there solutions to the ones the human eyes can’t miss. Frit is easy to see, and that visibility can also help it offer high efficacy to protect birds across a broader set of visual environments. Plus, it is a great choice when customization is desired and can help when economics is a driver.

A bold statement

Fritted options are supplied in partnership with our SunGuard™ fabricator network. Frit not only has the benefit of being widely available, but also the potential to be one of the more economical bird-friendly glass solutions in our portfolio. Frit is well worth considering when it comes to customization because ABC approval allows for prescriptive approval of new patterns without need for testing. Guardian’s bird-friendly expertise paired with our SunGuard fabricator network can help you achieve unique designs that help your projects stand out—as well as to attain higher levels of efficacy. Its efficacy can be strongest, in fact, when it is colored white and placed on surface 1. However, a whole world of color, pattern and surface positions are possible for getting the look and effectiveness you want. Since fritted glass can be so effective in providing protection to birds, it’s often a preferred choice for zoos, nature centers, universities and projects reaching for bold looks and high standards of bird friendliness.

*The American Bird Conservancy defines “bird-friendly” materials as those with a Threat Factor score of ≤30.
